Damask is a weaving technique that makes it posible to create textile images by switching between warp and weft.
Originally from China and The Far East, Damask was brought to Europe in the 13th Century. The weaving technique was refined in Damaskus, Syria, hence the name Damask. European crusaders brought Damask from Syria to Europe.
Isa's art is based on an evolution of the traditional use of linen, to more coarse materials like sisal and paperyarn.
A common theme in her creations, is optical patterns, where the material and different colors create exciting effects.
